A Conversation with America's Leading Legal Journalists

The legal system is no longer just for lawyers, nor is it confined to closed-door proceedings and sequestered juries. Today, the legal system is headline news: Supreme Court appointments and decisions, celebrity trials, the debate over the meaning of the Second Amendment, and the limitations on government wiretapping. The public is more informed about the law than ever, and—at the same time—can't seem to get enough of it. What makes the legal system so newsworthy, and how did the law become such a spectacle of amusement and fascination?

This Conversation gave audience members the chance to connect with four of America's leading legal journalists, the reporters who write about the law and whose analyses shape the public's understanding of what the law is and how it affects our lives.
